New season, new design

It was time for a new design for the Wicked Relevant design blog – something a little fun with rich, vibrant colors and a bit of a … well, wicked feel. Enter the new Wordpress theme simply called ‘Wicked”.

All graphics are custom made by me, Debbi Cunnington of Cimmeron Studios, LLC, with the exception of the vector devil, which was created elsewhere.

I’d love to have your feedback on the new blog design and I hope that your summer is wonderful!

Journey to Health and Fitness – Wordpress template design

Recently, I created a blog template for a new domain:

I’m very happy with the design! At this time, there isn’t any content on board (that was going to be the client’s task) but the design is nice and clean, just the same.

Tracey Lawton – new header for Thesis theme

I was contacted by Tracey Lawton to design an attractive header to work with her blog theme – Thesis. As many of you may know, Thesis is a highly versatile theme that is used by many bloggers on the Wordpress platform. The challenge is not to create a header, but to create one that artfully shows what the client does without taking over the entire design.

Tracey wanted a design that was attractive yet fun; she wanted to use her headshot and she had specific colors she wanted to use. To quote the client, “The look that I’m going for is professional and crisp, yet fun and informal.”

The first 2 looks were close, but not quite there:

They were close but not there YET! Finally, I took elements from both the first and second version and came up with this:

I asked Debbi to create a header for me for my blog and she did a fabulous job; I’m so pleased with it. I told her some basics of what I was after, particularly in terms of colors, but wasn’t too sure about the style. Dog Talk – Professional Dog Training – Canada

Let me just say that I love working with Kevin. I’ve designed websites for him, brochures, logos, etc. and he’s always very clear on his directions and a joy to work with.

His latest venture, Dog Talk Professional Dog Training, was no different. He wanted a logo similiar to what he has for his other business, Wag & Wash, but with a striking, high contrast style and the image of a black lab prominent.

I went with a funky font to bring some movement and action to the logo and it worked! The final logo is here:
